Microsoft has started testing deeper YouTube integration in its Edge browser. Edge’s latest Canary developers include a new “followable web” feature that makes it easy to follow your favorite content creators on YouTube.
Spotted Reddit User Leopeva64 a new YouTube follow button that appears in the address bar of YouTube pages. The following creators will add them to a feed that is part of the Collections feature in Edge. The feature is clearly in early preview stages and doesn’t support all YouTube content creators yet. In the feed created in Collections, you can see recent posts from creators you follow.

This deeper integration with YouTube will likely extend to other parts of the web as well. Microsoft Edge’s trackable web feature is similar to Google’s experimental feature in Chrome which allows people to follow blogs and creators to get the latest content when it is published. This is essentially an extension of RSS in Chrome and includes a follow button.
Microsoft is only testing this new Edge feature with a limited number of Edge Canary testers, as part of what the company calls “controlled rollout.” The software giant hasn’t officially announced its plans for the trackable web feature in Edge, but we expect to hear more about this modern RSS feed in the coming weeks.
